From the total area of oil palm plantations in Indonesia with 16,800,000 Ha in 2021 and from 1 Ha of Oil Palm Plantation approximately 1.5 Tons of Fresh Palm Fruit Bunch can be produced and or around 295 million TBS- Fresh Palm Fruit Bunch /Year. From 295 million tons of TBS- Fresh Palm Fruit Bunch/year, will generated ± 68 million tons/year of empty fruit bunch waste (EFB – Empty Fruit Bunch).

The potential for empty fruit bunches or EFB waste from oil palm plantations with ± 68 million tons/year, can be utilized to be processed into environmentally friendly products, namely wood pellets with high and adequate quality, environmentally friendly and economical, amounting to ± 57 million tons/year.
